Study in Australia Summer & Fall 2016

Australia is the sixth largest country and the world’s smallest continent by itself. It is a young, vibrant and friendly country. It is extremely welcoming to people from other countries and has a high proportion of non Australians living there as a proportion to its population. According to a United Nations 2011 survey it is among the top 3 in the world on quality of life.  Four of its major cities (Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney) are among the top ten of The Economist’s World’s Most Livable Cities list of 2008. English is the most widely spoken language in Australia.





Australian Education system
Australian universities are widely known for the quality of their teaching and research. Australia’s scientists and researchers have been responsible for major breakthroughs and technological advances. They have won international awards, including eight Nobel Prizes. Australia has three types of education institutions – Universities (Offers Undergraduates, Post graduate, PhD Courses), Colleges (Mostly offer Diploma courses but some also offer degree programs) and Vocational Education and Training Institutes (offers practical skills for career enhancement). Indian students prefer degree courses as they are recognized better for jobs and immigration purposes.

Entry criterion
Academic requirement – To apply for bachelors programs candidates require 10+2 or equivalent. To apply for masters program a bachelor’s degree in any field is required. Past academic record in the same field is needed in some universities except for admission into management fields which is open to all students. Students with strong academic profile can get admission into top ranking universities. Students with an average profile can also get admission into some standard universities and colleges.
